Kent James Gamble, 68, of Independence, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 after a courageous seven year battle with neuroendocrine cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 37 years, Lenore Fritz, his brother Keith (Robbyn) Gamble, his sister Karen (Carl Smith-deceased) Gamble, his in-laws, Don and Anne Fritz, Dan Fritz, Anne and Hud Peck; nieces and nephews: Roxana Gamble, Audra (Nathan) Gamble-Kowaleski , Emily (Michael) Bridges, Hayley (Chris) Gegas, Maxine (Vince) Ross, Sam Peck, Thomas Fritz and Madelyn Fritz, and his great-nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Kent was a man full of life who loved adventures and always created beauty. He owned Independence Cabinet Design and took great pride in his woodworking. He lived life to the fullest as an avid gardener, winemaker and potter, among other creative talents, and on occasion creating masterpieces from something he “picked up in a front yard”. Kent loved Cleveland sports, especially the Cleveland Indians attending many play-off games and exciting World Series games. He was always the life of the party, with many beloved family and friends gathering at their home. Kent truly was a Renaissance Man.
Kent’s family would like to thank his oncologist Dr. Amr Mohamed and his team at the UH Seidman Cancer center, who took wonderful care of Kent along with palliative care Dr. Rab Razzak who provided humor and smiles every time he saw Kent and Lenore.
Born April 7, 1957, to parents Wilma and Donald Gamble, Kent grew up with his siblings in Maple Heights, Ohio. Kent was a graduate of Maple Heights High School. Our hearts are heavy and Kent will be missed but always remembered for his zest for life. Always in our hearts…
