Joseph Mandarano's Obituary
JOSEPH (GIUSEPPE) MANDARANO, age 87, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home in Naples, Florida. Joe was the beloved husband of Natalie (nee Long) for 37 years. While no children of his own, he was a cherished uncle to Nadia, Sylvie, Claude, Domenico, Anna Stella, Erin, Tracy, Thomas, Natalie, Michael, Robert (deceased) and Dilara and great-uncle to Sophie, Alex, James, Andrew, Brianna, Evan, Samuel, and Francis. He was a beloved brother to his sister Carmela Vincenti (Rodolfo) and brother-in-law to Rosina, Joseph Long (Mary) and Stanley Long (Marybeth).
Joe was born in Sant’Ilario dello Ionio, Italy in 1933 to the late Domenico and Stella Mandarano. He was preceded in death by his brother Antonino Mandarano. Joe immigrated to the United States in 1959. He grew up in challenging times during and after World War II. Despite those challenges, he always valued education and pursued his studies fervently. Upon his arrival to the United States, Joe continued a career in finance and enjoyed a successful career in senior financial management in the hospitality industry. Joe received many awards and accolades from peers and associates. In addition to family and friends, Joe was certainly passionate about “everything Italy”. While appreciative of his opportunities here in the States, Joe kept his Italian culture alive and well. He helped host an Italian radio program, loved his Italian sports cars, Italian National soccer team and his Italian music. He was a special person and will certainly be missed by all those that knew him.
