One of my favorite memories of Dad, my father-in-law, was going to Cedar Point while Judy and I were dating. It became clear to me that one of his requirements for me to marry Judy was to be able to ride roller coasters with him. Although I was somewhat fearful and inexperienced with roller coasters, I bravely road them so I could be engaged to Judy. Soon I grew to really enjoy them!
When Mark and Jim were growing up and we would go to Cedar Point, Dad would coach them including telling Jimmy to stand up tall to be allowed to go on the roller coaster. One time Jimmy was told that he was not tall enough to ride until he told them “but I’ve already been on this ride two times."
Special Memories!
My Dad loved spiced jelly beans and chocolate! A cherished memory of my Dad was coming home from school where I was teaching in California to find a very large stand up boxed chocolate Easter bunny at my door with two bags of jelly beans! It is a favorite story because I cherished the love behind my 87 year old father at that time sending his daughter an Easter bunny for Easter! It was the biggest Chocolate Easter Bunny I ever had and we enjoyed every yummy bite of it! When I asked him why he sent me two bags of jelly beans he laughed and said,
“Oh, I was wondering what happened to that second bag it was supposed to be for me!” I love ❤️ you Dad!
