Christie Fruits' Obituary
Christie Lee (Warren) Fruits passed away on January 17, 2021 peacefully in her home in Garfield Heights, Ohio at the age of 46. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, James Fruits; her three children Malachi, Mylee, and Max Fruits; her mother Eileen; her father Jay (Kathy); and her siblings Michelle (Blaine), Dan, Gus, and Siedah.
Christie was born on September 26, 1974 in Chicago, IL. From the moment she was born she began impacting the world in the most heartfelt, sincere, and witty ways. If you were honored enough to cross paths with Christie you would quickly realize that she loved her husband and their love was true love; they were soulmates. You would learn that she was an amazing mother who would do whatever it took to advocate for her children and that they were the greatest blessings she ever received. Christie was devoted to her relationship with Jesus and her favorite conversations were ones where she would learn about how Jesus was impacting the lives of those around her.
In her 46 years, Christie Fruits taught her friends and family many things. She taught us how to face challenges with tenacious bravery. She taught us how to love our spouse and how to quietly encourage whatever ridiculousness they could invent. She taught us how to be intentional in our relationships, to put others first, to focus our sights on Jesus and to trust that He was in control and His plan was greater than ours. She taught us that time is so valuable and to take each moment and to live each day to the fullest. She taught us that thoughtfulness, hand written notes, words of encouragement, and loving unconditionally are choices that we should all make every day. Even after being diagnosed with cancer in January of 2019 Christie continued to live out her life legacy of “She does Brave” and because of her strength and will “so do we”. Christie will always be remembered for living the belief that “God is good. God is good to me. God is good at being God.”
