Carl M. Ferrazza's Obituary
Carl M. Ferrazza was born November 22, 1961, and peacefully stepped into Eternity on
Thursday, December 22, with his beloved wife Monica at his side and surrounded by family and
close friends, following a courageous three-year battle with stage-four cancer. He was preceded
in death by his sons Christopher and Michael, his parents Carl and Loreen Ferrazza, Russell and
Virginia Parnell, and brother-in-law Michael Parnell. He is survived by his wife Monica Ferrazza,
his brother Robert Ferrazza (Martha), his brothers-in-law Mark and Matt Parnell (Suzy), his
sisters-in-law Mary Barnett (Jim), Martha Gorski (Rock), and Nicole Parnell, and many nieces and
nephews.
Carl graduated from Brush High School in 1979. He went on to graduate from The Ohio State
University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Carl spent his
career in the financial services industry, becoming a partner at Vantage Financial before
launching his own company Wealth Management Solutions in 2016. Carl’s other business
interests were diverse, ranging from a farm in Ashtabula to investing in the controlling interest at
Quartz Scientific, Inc, a leading manufacturer, and international supplier of fused quartz products.
Carl and Monica met in 1987 and showed their love to each other time and time again throughout
their 35 years together. As a final tribute to their dedication to each other, Monica spent the last
months tirelessly caring for Carl with patience and compassion. She advocated for his care and
oversaw all treatments to ensure he had the best chance at making the most of his time with her
and those he loved. Carl and Monica were married on May 13, 1989, and raised their two boys,
Christopher and Michael in Brecksville, Ohio. Carl loved life, loved his Monica and his boys, and
he loved his friends and clients. He loved sports, including running, hunting in Montana, traveling,
and precision rifle shooting.
A man of deep faith and patriotism, Carl passionately befriended, generously supported, and
advocated for U.S. military service members, families, and veterans. He was an honorary
member of the 101st Airborne Division’s 2-327th Infantry Battalion, where he formed personal
bonds and cherished the days and nights, he, Christopher, and Michael spent in the field training
with, listening to, and mentoring the “No Slack” battalion’s soldiers. Inspired by these men and
women’s courage and resilience through several deployments, Carl worked tirelessly to honor
their service, and further inspired friends and neighbors throughout Cleveland to do the same.
Carl received the Certificate of Leader Development from the United States Army War College
and was later given the personal Purple Heart of General Andrew Poppas for his invincible
perseverance and courage.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Key Tower Marriott 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Carl would have appreciated any donations to True Freedom Ministries, 2005
