Carl not only put my wife and I in a comfortable financial retirement position but became a close friend. When he purchased the farm property in Ashtabula he invited me and some friends out to deer hunt on the farm. He would see to it that we had all of the tree stands and his ATV's for us to use. We even stayed over one night in the house that was on the property instead of us staying in a local hotel.
I laughed when we went out to hunt one time and he had purchased an army troop carrier to get us across the creek when it was too swollen to cross in an ATV.
He was a very special friend and Peg and I will miss him very much.

Carl was an extraordinary person. He was intensely passionate about whatever he took up in life - his business, hobbies, but most of all his family (Monica, Chris, Mike) and his faith. He achieved so much in his lifetime and that is a testament to this passion. Personally, I owe my brother so much because it was his love of music that inspired me to pursue that path in the beginning. It is heartbreaking to me to lose him but I am also so thankful just to be able to know him and call him my brother. Even when he was unwell, both Carl and Monica were so compassionate that they never lost the capacity to put others before themselves. Carl's memory and spirit will always live on in my family and we will always look out for our beloved sister in law, Monica.
