Virginia Mae Higgins' Obituary
Virginia Mae Higgins, age 90 of Brook Park, passed away peacefully, in the loving presence of her family, Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born August 1, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, Virginia was the daughter of the late John and Felicia (nee Sajewski) Hetman and the cherished sister of Kathleen Hetman and the late Elizabeth Arnost (the late Louis), Ray Hetman (Evelyn, surviving), Edward Hetman (Beverly, surviving), Theodore Hetman (Carolyn, surviving) and Felicia Ruminski (the late Robert). Beloved aunt Virge of Tess, and dear aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Holy Name High School, Virginia carried the values of her education with her throughout her life. She was known for her steady presence, her gracious manner, and the dignity with which she approached each day. In both her personal and professional life, she was dependable and kind, offering her time and attention with sincerity and care.
Virginia was a woman of deep faith, and her spiritual life was central to who she was. She found great joy and peace in attending church, where she was strengthened by worship, fellowship, and prayer. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about, but something she lived through her actions, her outlook, and the way she treated others. She was faithful in the truest sense of the word, and her life reflected a quiet trust in God that remained with her through every season.
An avid reader, Virginia enjoyed the comfort and enrichment that came from books. Reading gave her both knowledge and pleasure, and it was one of the many ways she spent her time with purpose and contentment.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma at 11 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
