Sister Mary Ann (Pius) Stoltz Obituary
Sister Mary Ann (Pius) Stoltz, (SSJ-TOSF) age 87, died on November 19, 2024. She was born on May 2, 1937 in Marathon County at the home of her grandparents. She is the daughter of the late Emil and Susan Stoltz.She attended St. Peter Grade School and graduated from Maria High School in 1955. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis in 1956 and pronounced her final vows on August 10, 1963.She attended St. Norbert College in West De Pere, Wi where she received her teaching degree.Sister Mary Ann ministered as a teacher and principal in Catholic Schools in Green Bay, La Crosse, River Falls, Milwaukee, Thorp and Eau Claire.She received her Masters Degree in Religious Education from Boston College. Sister Mary Ann was a Director of Religious Education at Most Precious Blood in New London WI and at St. Therese in Appleton. She was a Pastoral Minister at St. Patrick in Elroy, WI and St. Bronislava in Plover, WI.Sister Mary Ann retired in 2007 and resided at St. Joseph Motherhouse offering supportive services. She, also, was a part-time chaplain at Whispering Pines and Lodge for five years.Sister Mary Ann is survived by her nieces and nephews, cousins and the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Frances, with whom she shared her life for 69 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sister Barbara and brothers John (Joan Hodak) and Raymond (Mary Lou Ellenz).Mass of Christian Burial and Inurnment will take place in Stevens Point, WI.
