Russell "Russ" Brown's Obituary
Russell Allen Brown, 82, passed away on January 31, 2026.
Russell (“Russ”) was born on November 8, 1943, in Cincinnati Ohio, and most recently lived near his granddaughters in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the devoted husband of the late Virginia Claire Brown and the beloved son of Ethel & Lawrence Brown. Russ was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris (Roger) Ayer and Irma (Chuck) Wheelwright; his brother, Don Brown; and his sons, Michael and Richard Wesseller. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Brown, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Brown, whom he considered like a daughter, as well as their two daughters, Halle and Camden Brown, whom he absolutely adored. He is also survived by his younger son, Kevin Brown.
Russ proudly served in the United States Army and spent part of his younger years working as a ranger at Yellowstone National Park. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed taking walks and hikes through the National Parks. Beyond nature, his greatest passion-other than his beloved Ginny-was reading, particularly National Geographic magazines and books.
A celebration of life will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1-4pm on June 7, 2026 at Moerlein Lager House, 115 Joe Nuxhall Way, Cincinnati, OH, 45202. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russell’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
