Ronald "Ron" Matusik's Obituary
Ronald G. "Ron" Matusik , of Valley View, passed away unespectedly on February 15, 2026, on his 65th birthday. Born in 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio, Ron was the cherished son of the late Jacob and Jean (Long) Matusik and the loving brother of Dave (Matilda) Matusik. He was also a dear cousin and friend to many.
Ron was a proud 1979 graduate of Cuyahoga Heights High School. His dedication to his community was evident through his 20-plus years of service with the Village of Valley View, from which he retired.
A man of diverse interests, Ron was often found rummaging through flea markets, where he delighted in discovering hidden treasures and antiques. His love for the thrill of the race was no secret, as he spent many days at the race track, watching the stock car races. Ron also had a passion for the railroad, and enjoyed exploring those. He was an avid bowler, bowling on a league for years, achieving two 300 games.
As we bid farewell to Ronald G. Matusik, we celebrate a life lived with kindness, a spirit of adventure, and a heart full of generosity. His memory will continue to inspire and influence those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Vodrazka Golubski Deliberato Funeral Care, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence, from 4-7 p.m. immediately followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. Ron will be laid to rest on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
