Robert D. Prugar's Obituary
Robert D. Prugar, 75, passed away suddenly on March 16, 2025, beloved husband of Yolanda (nee Flor) for 43 years, and loving father of Justin; cherished son of the late Stanley and Lottie (nee Kwiatkowski); dearest brother of the late Paulette Barry (William, deceased), James (Donna), and Diane Spoone (Peter, deceased). He is survived by his sisters-in-law Yvonne Flor, Yvette Rynties (Greg), Ysolde Grody (Bob), Yardena Flor, Yasmin Stull (Michael) and Yael Timock (Marty); brothers-in-law Robert Flor Jr., Richard, Rockwell, Raymond and Russell (both deceased). He was loved by many nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Godfather to Cheryl Littlefield.
He was born November 10, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. He served as an altar boy at the former Holy Family grade school. He attended South High and graduated from Independence High School, class of 1968. He attended Ohio University and Hiram College. He was employed as an accountant at various companies, including HealthAmerica and Office Max. He also worked as an accountant in Hawaii.
He was an avid sports fan. Robert coached his son’s baseball and soccer teams. He loved attending Indians, Cavs, and Browns games with his son Justin. His love for skiing took him to West Virginia, Colorado, New York, and Ohio with his son, family members and friends. He also loved golfing with his son. For relaxation, he enjoyed watching westerns on TV. Robert created wood crafting items early in his marriage. He traveled to Canada and Mexico. After his retirement, he decided to return to work to occupy his time as a security guard at Charles Schwab.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME, 6505 BRECKSVILLE ROAD, INDEPENDENCE, ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2025, FROM 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Albert the Great, 6667 Wallings Road, North Royalton, on Thursday, at 10 AM.
