Rita Matthes, (nee Minarik) age 93, went home to her Savior God and was reunited with her husband Charles on December 8, 2022. Loving mother of Margie Shaffer (Don), Chuck, Jim (deceased), (Eileen), and Barb.
Cherished grandmother of Heidi (Kelly), Meri (the late Mike), Dan (Jackie), Dave (Christina), Gretchen (Jeff), and Duane. Great grandmother of Justin (Jenn), Dena (deceased), Nik, Katie, Amanda, Elayna, Maddy, Emily, Ellie, Mikayla, Jackson, Aria, and Gunner. Auntie of many and friend to all.
Dear sister of Barb Oravec (Ken) and the following deceased siblings, Robert (Ginger), Laurene (Fred, deceased), and Gene (Harry, deceased).
Rita was an avid fan of all sports Cleveland, especially baseball, whose goal in life was to make those around her smile. The family would like to thank all her "earth angels" who provided such excellent care.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence (1/2 mile south of Rockside Rd.) on Sunday, December 18 from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 19, at 10 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Charles.
