Raymond E. Burant Sr.'s Obituary
Raymond E. Burant Sr., age 88, a 40 year resident of Independence and Broadview Hts for 12 years, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Devoted husband of 66 years to Frances Ann (nee Guercia). Loving father of Raymond Jr. (Jeanmarie), Ronald (Phoebe), and Kenneth (Beverly). Cherished grandfather of Christopher (deceased), Matthew (Katy), Jennifer Masters (Daniel), Kevin, Alex, Keenan, Aaron and Zachery. Adored great grandfather of Laina, Jack, Margaret and Evelyn. Dear brother of the late Robert & Phyllis Burant. Raymond served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a 34-year employee with Ohio Bell and 20 years with the Independence Rec Center as a transport driver. Raymond played baseball and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He played the trumpet in local events, was an active member of the Independence Players theater group, and also served on the McIntosh Farms Master’s Association Board. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Raymond will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with full military honors. Service dates and time to be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Cleveland APL, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44113.
