Peter S. Olah's Obituary
Peter S. Olah, age 82 of Garfield Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born July 7, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Pete was the son of the late John and Victoria (Schnierer) Olah.
Pete was a proud 1961 graduate of Warrensville Heights High School. His passion for education led him to pursue further studies, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bowling Green University, followed by a Master's in Education from Kent State University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for what would become a distinguished career in teaching.
For many years, Pete was a beloved Industrial Arts Teacher at Chagrin Falls High School. His dedication to his students went beyond the classroom as he coached three sports-Track & Field, Wrestling, and Girls Cross Country. His coaching prowess was highlighted when he led the Girls Cross Country team to a State Final victory, a feat that earned him a well-deserved place in the school's Sports Hall of Fame.
Outside the classroom, Pete was an avid marathon runner, a testament to his discipline and endurance. His hands were as skilled as his mind, and he found joy in doing custom body work, building custom cars, and had a particular fondness for Corvettes. These interests were more than hobbies; they were a reflection of his meticulous nature and his love for craftsmanship.
Pete was the husband of the late Carole (Karpowicz), the loving father of Pete Olah and the late Pam Olah, cherished grandfather of Michael Lopez and dear brother of the late John Olah. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he instilled in them the values of education, hard work, and the importance of following one's passions.
Those who knew Pete will remember him for his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his boundless knowledge. He was a mentor to many, and a friend to all. Pete will be remembered by the countless lives he enriched and his memory will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Vodrazka Golubski Deliberato Funeral Care, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence, Monday, January 12, 2026 from 4 - 7 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at The First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Rd., Walton Hills, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
