Paul Curtis "Curt" Degrand, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 72. Born November 29, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, Curt was the beloved son of the late Paul and Eleanor (nee Iannarelli) Degrand. Father of Cameron (Victoria) Degrand, grandfather of Charlotte Degrand, brother of Ron (Barb) Degrand and Margaret "Peggy" (Ron) Siegel, former husband of Mary Degrand (Sam Neric) and uncle and cousin to many.
Curt was a proud 1972 graduate of St. Edward High School, where he began the journey that would shape the steady, hardworking, and dependable man remembered by so many.
Curt worked for many years as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to doing his job well. He later retired as an assembly worker from Swagelok in Solon, Ohio. His years of service and dedication to his work were a source of pride, and he approached each chapter of his career with responsibility and perseverance. Those who worked alongside him knew him as someone who could be counted on, and his contributions were appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing him in the workplace.
Outside of work, Curt enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the company of good friends. He had a strong interest in investing strategies and liked learning about ways to make thoughtful decisions for the future. He also enjoyed playing pool with his friends, where his easygoing nature and good humor made every gathering more enjoyable. Curt was personable, kind, funny, and easy to get along with, qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Curt will be remembered for the way he carried himself with kindness and for the laughter he brought into the lives of others. He had a natural ability to put people at ease and a personality that made him a pleasure to be around.
Though Curt is no longer with us, the memory of his good nature, his sense of humor, and the many ways he touched the lives of others will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
