God brought Nancy into our lives through my sister Paula. They were neighbors initially before forming a precious bond that would last forever. We adopted Nancy into our family and she adopted us. Over the years, we celebrated many holidays and special occasions together. These were very special times and we looked forward to sharing them with our precious Nancy. She shared our joys and sorrows alike. We affectionately called her Mel's Nancy because of the amazing love and support she gave my sister, Melanie, during her 3-year battle with cancer. We will always love and cherish Nancy in our hearts and will be forever grateful for the years we were blessed to have her in our lives. We miss you, Nancy, and offer our deepest sympathy and our heartfelt prayers to Noel, Christopher, Deborah, and your grandchildren.
Nancy first came into our lives after Paula’s family moved into a townhouse across the street from her. We hold precious memories of the treasured times she spent with our families, especially as we celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter together over many years. She truly became part of the Bedford and Harris families, and the love we shared with one another was priceless beyond words. When my oldest sister Melanie was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago, Nancy immediately began sending her adorable uplifting cards (with envelopes decorated with lots of stickers) and sweet little care packages, all the way from Ohio.  Incredibly, Nancy continued to do this faithfully until the Lord took our precious Melanie home to be with Him 3 years later.  We will always be indebted to Nancy for the loving-kindness she poured out on Melanie (and on all of us) during this most difficult season of our lives.  Deborah, Christopher, and Noel, thank you ever so much for sharing your sweet mother with us.  We are so very sorry for this precious loss in your lives.  We love her and miss her too.  Please know that we grieve with you, and for you.  We take comfort in knowing that our Nancy is now ever joyful in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved dearly.
Nancy was a former neighbor to my mother, father sister and I and she grew to be a part of my family; the Bedford and Harris family. She spent numerous holidays including Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving with my family for many years while she still lived in Virginia. I am deeply saddened by this news, we will all miss her dearly. Her nickname for me was “Busterâ€. She used to send me cards and presents and texts and always addressed me as Buster it was our thing. Nancy, Buster loves you and misses you.
We are so very sorry to hear about our sweet Nancy. She was more than a friend ... she was like family. We loved her so much and had a lot of great times sharing holiday meals when she loved in Virginia. Please know we are praying for the family at this difficult time. One thing we know is that she is resting peacefully with Jesus now.
