Dino will be greatly missed. She and Carolyn were my Dad’s (Hank Pekarek, Jr.) younger cousins, and we lived near them briefly in Independence in 1970, when my family moved back to care for my grandmother, Eleanor. My sister, Jan, & I always looked up to them and were captivated at Carolyn’s wedding. We especially loved our summer visits from Virginia to see them when we were growing up—Uncle Johnny, Aunt Eleanor, and “Clancy” (well, he scared us! :). It was wonderful to re-connect through Facebook years later, and remember so much together. Our love and sincere sympathies to Carolyn and her family in such a hard loss. I can’t imagine being separated from my “sissy” either. Rest in peace, Dino..
I had the absolute pleasure of becoming a teacher under her tutalege. She was a wonderful teacher, coach, mentor, human being. The world is a much sadder place with her being gone.
As you grieve know that we are thinking of you

Nadine was a compassionate and joyfilled person. She cared for the residents here at St. Agnes apartments and loved playing board games with her friends and the residents she enjoyed life with. She will be missed.
She was my first and best department head to work with. I learned so much about the preparation, execution and assessment aspects of education from her. For me she and Sister Iluminata were very similar in that they came across as having a rough exterior but deep down were very sweet, loving, and caring individuals. Even when they both needed to be stern with me, I always knew it was for my own good and that it was done with compassion. She was someone I admired professionally and looked up to.
Nadine was an amazing mock trial coach! She inspired me to be one as well and she helped me become the man I am today. I will never be able to thank her enough! Rest in peace Nadine!
