Mary E. Huber's Obituary
Mary E. Huber passed through the veil peacefully on July 18, 2017 (96yrs). Born Feb. 20, 1921 to John and Elizabeth Jones in Calamus, WI., the first of six children, their only daughter. She grew up on the family farm and went to a one room school house. She was active in the 4H Club. Inspired by her Aunt Mae, she became a nurse graduating from Milwaukee County General Hospital. Upon graduation she enlisted in the Navy during WWII and was an Ensign serving as an operating room nurse in New York. Post war, she graduated from Western Reserve College in Cleveland, Ohio breaking ground as a nurse anesthetist. Worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio until 1986. She married her loving husband Jack Huber. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mary actively served in the PTA, Girls Scouts, Miles Park and Independence Presbyterian Churches as a deacon and in the women's auxiliary, Eastern Star Windermere Ch. 388, charter member of Garfield Hts. Junior Women's League and Bedford Rotary International.Preceding her in death were her loving husband, parents and three brothers and grandson, Adam Young. She is survived by her brothers: Thomas and Charles (Darleen); children: Elizabeth, Jack (Sandra), William (Debra), Victoria (David); granddaughters: Heather (Jonathan), Rachel, Kathleen (Matthew) and Hannah; great-grandchildren: Abigail and Samuel. Mary had many wonderful friends and special people in her life. We express our thanks to Western Reserve Masonic Community, Medina Hospital, and Hospice of the Western Reserve. FOR VISITATION AT INDEPENDENCE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 6624 PUBLIC SQUARE, INDEPENDENCE, OH 44131 ON FRIDAY, JULY 21 FROM 11:30AM TO12:30PM, followed by funeral service at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087.
