MARLENE LENTZ (nee Szymalak), 84, of Independence, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Cherished wife of the late John Lentz, Jr. for 43 years; dear mother of John (Karen), Jim (Nora), Tom (Cindy), and Denise Eckman (Mark); dear sister of Patricia Pelka; loving grandmother of Katie, Johnny, Jordan, David, Evan, Kimberly, Brian, Maia, Jack, Adam, Bethany, and Erin; great grandmother of Benjamin, Henry, Avery, Henley, Lucy and Lillian.
Marlene radiated joy wherever she went and absolutely adored her children and grandchildren. She was an active, long-time member of the Christ Child Society. Her passion was collecting old jewelry and re-purposing it with the proceeds supporting the children through Christ Child Society. She was awarded the prestigious Merrick Award for distinguished service with the Christ Child Society.
All services will be private.
