Margaret Wilson's Obituary
MARGARET WILSON, age 97, passed away on October 10, 2020. Born in Lorain, Ohio on June 22, 1923 to Anna and Joseph Szabo, Margaret "Marge" moved to Cleveland in 1943 and worked for Jack and Heintz Aircraft during the war. After the war, she met the love of her life, Rudolph “Rudy” Wilson, a war veteran, and in July of 1947 they were married. Marge was by Rudy’s side for 48 years until his passing in March of 1995.
As a long- time parishioner of Holy Name Church, Marge was a very active member of the Women’s Guild. She was extremely devoted to her faith and family, and along with her husband, raised five children, seeing them through scouting, family nights swimming, and athletic events. She was also an avid fan of Cleveland sport teams and at the age of 90 years old, she threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Cleveland Indians baseball game with her family in attendance.
She spent her last 15 years making new friends as a resident of the Jennings Senior Center.
Marge is survived by her five children; Rudy Jr. (Kathy), Alan (Cindy), Donald (Charlotte), Peggy, and Janice Tompkins, as well as eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call at VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME, 6505 BRECKSVILLE RD, on Friday, October 16, 2020 for viewing from 10-11 AM. Memorial service at 11 AM at the FUNERAL HOME. INTERMENT at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cuyahoga Hts.
