Kenneth Allen Stovarsky, age 69 of Independence, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Born August 11, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio, Ken was the devoted son of the late Nicholas and Mary Ann ( Sobczynski) Stovarsky. Beloved husband of 10 years of Lynn (Brantley) Stovarsky. Loving and cherished father of Matthew Stovarsky (Aubrey) and Kimberly Stovarsky (fiance' Robert Fulton). Dear brother of Richard (Peggy) Stovarsky, uncle of Mikael Stovarsky, and cousin and friend to many.
Ken graduated from Independence High School in 1974 and went on to attend the University of Alaska, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Conservation of Natural Resources. His education reflected both his curiosity about the world and his respect for the natural environment. He carried that appreciation throughout his life, especially in the many ways he enjoyed the outdoors and shared that love with others.
Ken was widely known as a carpenter extraordinaire, a title that suited him well. He could make or fix anything, and he often used that remarkable talent to help family and friends without ever charging them. He was generous with his time, his labor, and his knowledge, and he took pride in being someone others could count on. Whether he was building, repairing, or creating something from scratch, he approached every task with patience, skill, and care.
His interests were as varied as his talents. Ken served as a Boy Scout leader for his son's troop, a role that reflected his commitment to guiding young people and sharing his love of the outdoors. He was an avid hiker who found joy in nature, and he especially loved camping, where he could enjoy the simple pleasures of fresh air, open spaces, and good company. He also loved to throw parties and entertain, and he was known as an excellent cook who delighted in bringing people together around a table or campfire. Friends and family often described him as a "Renaissance Man," and that description was well earned. He made his own beer, roasted his own coffee, and seemed to have the ability to master nearly anything he set his mind to.
Ken was a devoted husband to his wife, Lynn. When she suffered a stroke, he moved her to Florida so he could care for her, demonstrating the depth of his love and commitment. His devotion was quiet but unwavering, and it stood as one of the clearest examples of the man he was. He was hardworking, loyal, and deeply generous, and he never judged anyone or mistreated anyone. His presence brought comfort, and his character left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Ken will be remembered for his strong hands, his generous heart, and his steady spirit. He lived with integrity and treated others with respect and compassion.
Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Vodrazka Golubski Deliberato Funeral Care, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence, Ohio from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Shade Cemetery, Independence.
