Judy Grassi - Kovach, age 67 of Independence, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Robert Kovach. Daughter of the late Dominick Grassi and the late Ruth Lazer. Dear sister of Wayne Gregg, Linda (Sam) Tumino, Laura (Robert) Grace, and James (Debbie) Grassi. Step-mother of Dawn Schilling (Jim), Lori Kovach, Jeanne Giglio (Jim) and Robert A. Kovach (Joanie). Grandmother of Emily Nelson, Jonathan Nelson (Kate), Jade Core (Anthony), Jimmy Giglio and Jewel Giglio. Great grandmother of Adelyn Core. Aunt and friend to many.
Judy left this earth being true to her edgy character and political values. Always the rebel, she continued to do the things she enjoyed like shopping, get-togethers with friends and family, and dining at trendy restaurants. Judy was sassy and classy with a bow on top. As the owner of Phases Hair Salon, she kept up with the latest trends. Always finding a need to reinvent herself, she graduated from Virginia Marti School of Design and embarked on a new career. She had the unique gift to transform any home into an amazing masterpiece. Her husband Bob Kovach passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Bob was the love of her life. Their relationship was a true love story that has no ending as they walk through the gates of heaven together. This is not a goodbye. It's a farewell, until we meet again!
