Dear Family, I heard of Mrs. Sluka's passing this late. I was on vacation when my former sixth grade teacher died. I don't think I would have learned geography as well as I did had I not had your mother for class at William Foster. She was a great teacher for me with the proper temperament to manage children. I enjoyed seeing her years afterward at events in Garfield Heights. I was proud to tell her I became a lawyer. Please accept my condolences.

Susan, My deepest sympathies. I am currently going through a serious health issue with my own mother and still not knowing how much she will actually recover and it makes you take pause, and become thoughtful of the part your mother has played in your life. I hope that you have countless wonderful memories to draw strength from. You are certainly in my thoughts and my prayers. You are blessed to have family to help you, and friends to support you. I worked with your mother for a number of years in the Garfield Heights schools. For me she was the best example of a teacher I could know. More importantly she was an exemplary human being who will be missed by many. Deepest sympathies to the family.
I never had a chance to meet your mother, I work with your husband Mike. He spoke of your mother so often and he had a certain passion for her. I know this is a dark moment in your life, but with a husband like Mike you are still blessed. May god bless you and your family. Terry Chambers.
