John Fabich's Obituary
John Fabich, age 103, of Independence. Beloved husband of the late Margaret for 76 years. Loving father of Ronald (Penny), Gerald (Mary deceased) and Donald (Cheryl). Cherished grandfather of Nathaniel, Emmaline (Katie), Abigail, Alyson and Rebecca. Brother of the following deceased: Stella Rakiewicz (Joseph), and Anna Galaska (Ben). Dear Uncle of Carolyn Vizer (deceased), Diane Palcisko and John Rakiewicz and beloved great uncle.
John and his wife, Margaret, enjoyed leading the Independence Senior Travel Group (Pleasure Seekers) for over 20 years. John proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII as a crew chief in the 17th Bomb Group, 37th Squadron. He then served as a flight chief in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant in 1951. Pop loved his family dearly and made many life-long friends. He recently said "I've had a great life!" Friends may call at THE VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME OF INDEPENDENCE, 6505 BRECKSVILLE RD., (RT. 21, S.OF ROCKSIDE), THURSDAY, JULY 27, 2023 FROM 5-8 P.M. Funeral Mass Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church 6912 Chestnut Rd., Independence, at 10 a.m. Interment Mapleshade Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256.
