Joanne M. Chaky's Obituary
Joanne Chaky, age 87, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cherished friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
Joanne was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Chaky. Together, they built a life centered on family, kindness, and unwavering support for those they loved.
She was a loving mother to Joel (Sindey) Chaky, Joanette (Floyd) Nelson, Becky (Chuck) Santoro, and Judy (Bill) Doran. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she took immense pride in each of her children.
Joanne was a dear grandmother to Courtney Santoro, Matt (Cassidy) Santoro, Nick Santoro, Liam Doran, Hannah Doran, Molly Doran, Elise Chaky (fiancé Dante Damico), Michele Chaky, Carly Nelson, and a loving great-grandmother to Corbin Santoro. Her warmth, spirit, and sense of humor will live on in each of them.
Joanne was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Ann Muniak, and her cherished twin sister, Patricia Higgins (Bob). She is survived by her dear sister Mikki (Raymond) Morella, along with many nieces and nephews. Joanne was a dear friend to many.
She had a deep love for cooking and baking, often bringing people together through her delicious meals and treats. She was incredibly creative, expressing herself through flowers, egg painting, and drawing-always adding beauty and thoughtfulness to everything she touched. She especially looked forward to family gatherings, where laughter, love, and fun were always at the center.
Joanne will be remembered for her kind heart, creativity, strength, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends may gather for visitation at Vodrazka Golubski Deliberato Funeral Care, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence, on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4-8 p.m., with a Parastas service at 7 p.m. Office of Christian Burial at Dormition of the Mother of God Church, 4600 State Rd., Cleveland, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment to immediately follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, W. 54th St.
