Joan R. McCoy's Obituary
Joan R. McCoy (née Rogalski), age 91, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Roy McCoy. She was a devoted mother to Monte (Dorie) McCoy, William McCoy, Teresa Kresila (Dennis), and Sandra (Robert) Cottos, and the late Roger and Jimmy "Bull" McCoy. Joan was a cherished grandmother to Brian (Linz) McCoy, Nicholas (Megan) Kresila, Erica Crayton, Valerie Jerome (Sherwin), Greg McCoy (Tanya), Matthew McCoy, Grace McCoy, and Miranda McCoy. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Tavia and Amara Jerome; Trent and Liam McCoy; Matthew, Jillian, and Josslyn Howard; Gavin McCoy; and Karmalynn and Kelsey Kresila.
She was a loving sister of the late Stanley Rogalski, Joseph R. Rogalski, Cecelia Garczynski, Jean Kearns, Maryann Baleskie, and Clara Rogalski, as well as a dear aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Joan retired from Ohio Woolen Mills, where she worked for many years before devoting her time to her family and the things she loved most. She especially loved gardening, taking great pride in her flowers and plants, and found peace and happiness caring for her yard.
She also had a deep love for crocheting and dedicated nearly two decades of her life to making baby blankets for newborns. She lovingly created blankets for every baby at Huron Road Hospital, and when the hospital closed, she continued her mission at Metro Hospital's Oncology Department, ensuring the patients there received the same warmth and care. Her generosity and compassion touched countless families.
Joan also loved dancing, especially polka and rock and roll, and brought joy and energy wherever she went.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Vodrazka Golubski Deliberato Funeral Care, 6505 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio 44131.
Joan's kindness, creativity, and love for others will be remembered always.
