James A. Discenza's Obituary
James Anthony Discenza, age 59, left this world unexpectedly on May 17, 2024. He was the devoted son of John (deceased) and Joan (nee Burk); loving brother of Deborah Discenza, Lisa Buzalka (Peter) and Theresa Pontious (Richard); dear Uncle Jim to Christopher Sokolowski, Nicholas Buzalka (Ficatier), Anthony Buzalka (Michelle), Kimberly Netzband (Jordan), Sandra Leech (Larry) and David Pontious; adoring great-uncle to Michael Sokolowski, Sebastian Netzband and Maximilian Netzband; and leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends (especially Michelle Zmarzly). Jim had a large family tree but because of his big heart and willingness to help left an enormous extended family tree of those that considered him one of their own. Jim grew up fascinated by all things mechanical. He was encouraged by his great uncle Wilbur who let him take apart junk cars in his yard in Pennsylvania. He continued this pursuit in a vocational program in High School and upon graduation was hired by Catholic Cemeteries Assoc. - Diocese of Cleveland where he worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. Jim loved animals and was devoted to his dogs. He mourned the passing of Lobo, Sheba, and Frank like they were his children and leaves a bereft Elvira to be a comfort and comforted by his family. Jim loved music, a good drink, Doctor Who, wolves, Nerf gun wars, Sunday breakfast with his mom at L.A. Pete's, visiting his home in Tennessee and most of all his family and friends. Even though James believed in no God and had no children, he showed God's love to All in need and was a father to All who needed one. A Godfather to All who needed one. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks to please let Jim's life inspire you and pay forward the kindness that he has shown you.
