Irene May's Obituary
IRENE MAY (nee KATA), AGE 88, PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2024. She was reunited into the loving arms of her husband Leonard in heaven after 63 years of marriage.
Irene leaves behind her children Cindy Lamb (Philip), John (Beverly), the late Gregory, Peter (Jill), and Kathleen Mendel (Stuart);
She was the beloved sister of John, Bruno, Walter, Joseph, and Frances; and the dearest cousin of Adele Zubek.
Irene was the cherished grandmother of Benjamin (Kate), Kata, Jordan (Molly), Hannah (Jeff), Erik (Isabella), Allison (Riley), Nathan, Oliver (Amy), Adam (Emily), and Maggie (Chris). She was also the proud great grandmother of seven.
For Irene, the most important thing in her life was her family. She demonstrated her love for each of them by the delicious Polish food she was known for, the meticulous way she kept her house and garden, the time she spent with each of her children and grandchildren and the countless birthday cards she sent to each and everyone of them each year. Her devotion will be greatly missed.

A memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 6700 Lansing Ave., Cleveland on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 AM.
