Gloria T Laptiuk's Obituary
Gloria Therese Laptiuk (nee Tyburski), 88, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Born October 22, 1934 to John Joseph Tyburski and Helen Rita (Ruminski) Gloria spent her childhood in her beloved E 59th street, St Stanislaus neighborhood. At age 16 she moved with her family to Independence, Ohio where Gloria graduated from Independence High School in 1952.
Gloria was married to Michael Laptiuk in April 1955 until he passed away in 2020. They raised 4 loving daughters, Mary Helen Pierce, Michelle Adorno (Juan), Lori Jo Neiswander (Kirk), and Nancy Edmonds. Gloria was "GG" to 10 Grandchildren; Justin, Alicia, Shane, Jillian, Carissa, Ben, Grant, Brooke, Grace, and Lexi, 5 great-grandchildren, and many dogs. Gloria was the sassy sister to James Tyburski (Carole); and a caring and loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Gloria lived in Cleveland, Independence, Maple Heights, and Seven Hills, where she resided for the past 50 years. She was an Executive Secretary at the UAW Region 2 office before retiring after 30+ years. Gloria was a published author, lyricist, poet, talented cook and baker. She was a proud corn-hole, Yahtzee, and slot machine champion. She loved to ballroom dance with Michael, travel the world, and was an overall good-doer. She was creative, smart, funny, and a supportive role model who raised 4 strong girls. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. "Kochamy Cie" Mom.
Visitation is Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5 to 8pm at Vodrazka Funeral Home, 6505 Brecksville Rd, Independence OH.Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday February 4 at 11am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 6912 Chestnut Rd., Independence, OH. Interment Maple Shade Cemetery.
