I was saddened to hear from Tony that Giuseppe passed away. Giuseppe would often bring me his over abundant Ciccoria from his garden. The large dark green, slightly bitter leaves were a great addition to any salad of butter , bibb, romaine , or head lettuce. Just like Joe--- a compliment to any greens. After tax season, I looked forward to planting in my own garden just about this time of year--right after Mother's Day.
