Frank J. Szell's Obituary
FRANK SZELL, AGE 81, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2024. Dear companion for over 50 years of Barbara Bartczak; beloved son of the late Frank Jr. and Irene Szell; dearest nephew of J. Dolly Szell.
Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963 when he was honorably discharged. During his time in the armed forces, he served on the USS Los Angeles CA 135 as a radar man. Eventually he was transferred to the Admiral's Staff and continued as a radar man with top secret cryptographic clearance.
After his time in the military, Frank thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and driving his red Corvette. He was an avid fan of Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cavaliers. When not rooting for his favorite teams, Frank loved watching John Wayne movies and listening to all kinds of music, especially the Beach Boys.
Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's honor to the charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
