Dr. Michael Gary Szczepanski's Obituary
Dr. Michael Gary Szczepanski, aka "Doc Mike" and "Uncle Monkey" age 53; beloved husband of Sihem (nee Ben Saadi);proud father of Michael Johnny; loving son of Gary Szczepanski (deceased) and Rita Szczepanski and grandson of Chester and Helen Szczepanski (both deceased) and Steven and Ruby Chylinski (both deceased); dearest brother of Laura Krusinski (Gary), David Szczepanski, Karen Oluvic (Chris) and Kathy Manning (Paul); son-in-law of Yamina and Boukhalfa and brother-in-law of Nabila, Sabrina and Lyes; dear "Uncle Monkey" of Abigail, Sarah, Nathan, Megan, Rebekah, Allyson, Alex, Tina, Danielle, Malak, Talis, Izza, Abel, Noah and Elwan; loving nephew, cousin and friend of many. Mike grew up in Maple Heights and attended Saint Wenceslas, Trinity High School and Maple Heights High School. He was a graduate of the University of South Florida and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Doc Mike started his own Podiatry office in Brooklyn, NY. He devoted much of his time to charities such as Shoes for Kids, Breast Cancer Walk, March of Dimes, United Walk for Parkinson's Disease, New York Voter Registration, Millennium Sistahs, and attended mission trips to Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and St. Vincent to administer medical care. Doc Mike received many awards including the Humanitarian Award "Doctors without Borders", the Senate Proclamation for Community/Professional Achievement, the Senator Marvin J. Golden City of Brooklyn Citation for commitment for the community of Brooklyn, NY, the Community Service Award and the Caribbean-American Outreach Association. He had a love for sports, especially baseball and football, and he loved playing and supporting local sports teams and taking family to enjoy games. He loved motorcycles and was always ready for an adventure. Doc Mike enjoyed helping people, laughing and bringing smiles to everyone around him. A Private celebration of life and interment at All Saints Cemetery will be held.
