Dorothy Rozak's Obituary
Dororthy R. Rozak (nee Janke), 97, formerly of Independence passed away February 5, 2025; the beloved wife for 67 years of George (deceased); mother to Nancy Kuthan (Jack dcsd.), Gary (Diane) and Jeffry (Cheryl); grandmother to Jeff (Colleen) and Amy Kuthan; great grandmother to Jackson; sister to Rita Ostry, and deceased brothers Richard (Rita) and Joseph (Anita).
Dorothy was born February 6, 1927, to Joseph and Victoria Janke on 4096 East 57th St., and graduated from Cleveland South High School in 1945. She worked for the Telephone Company until 1955. In 1948, Dorothy and George were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary church. Initially, George and Dorothy lived on 6606 Lansing Ave. before moving to 8909 Garfield Blvd. where three children were born.
In 1967, the family moved to Independence, Ohio where she raised children and cared for the home. Dorothy actively worked for the voting polls. In 2018, Dorothy moved to Legacy Living in Copley as her dementia grew worse and was well cared for by Denise and the staff.
Friends may call at St. Michael Catholic Church, Independence, on Monday, February 10, from 10-10:30 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will start at 10:30. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Maple Shade Cemetery, Independence immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's honor to Union of Poles, Scholarship Fund 7100 E. Pleasant Valley Rd. Cleveland, OH 44131.
