Doris May Sourek, (nee Mizner), age 92, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019. Beloved daughter of the late Harry & Pauline (nee Frueh) Mizner. Loving mother of Margo (John) Cengic, Elizabeth Sourek, Mary (Thomas) Schneider, Robert Sourek, Jr.(Luann), Asta (Thomas) Soeholm, Sally (Andrew) Sanders, and Carol (Kevin) Drummond. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Jennifer (Tyler), Katie (Ryan), John, Tommy (Ashley), Maggie, Becky, Carolyn (Mitch), Jared, Whitney (Colin), Rob (Ayla), Eva (Jan), Stefan, Avery, Rowan and Niya. Great grandmother of 7. Sister of the late Jack (wife, Barbara) Mizner and the late Henry and Louis Mizner. Long-time resident of Independence, Girl Scout Leader of Troop 21 and an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Doris and a dear group of young wives met in kindred friendship in the early 1950’s and formed “The Club” whose surviving members remain friends to this day. Doris will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many. Funeral Mass Saturday, November 9, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 6912 Chestnut Rd., Independence, at 11 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Family will receive friends in THE VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME OF INDEPENDENCE, 6505 BRECKSVILLE RD., (RT. 21, S. OF ROCKSIDE), FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2019 FROM 4-8 P.M.
