Christine Cognata's Obituary
Christine "Chrissy" Cognata, age 68, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. Cherished wife of the late James Cognata for 39 years; dear mother of Laurie Fredmonsky (Brian), and James Cognata; grandmother of Gabrielle, Seth, and Violet; loving sister of Rosemary Murphy (Terence), Bernard Evans, the late Joseph Evans, and Stella Melton; beloved daughter of Louis & Agnes Evans (both deceased).
Chrissy will always be remembered as a caring and patient soul who ran a daycare out of her home for a while. In addition, Chrissy loved trivia games, brain fitness puzzles, walking, dancing, outings, movies, Bingo, and card games, volunteering, animal visits, and gardening. Perhaps most of all, Chrissy loved getting together with her family every Christmas Eve, enjoying dinner, dessert and gifts.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT VODRAZKA FUNERAL HOME 6505 BRECKSVILLE RD., INDEPENDENCE (1/2 mile south of Rockside Rd.) ON THURSDAY, MARCH 27, FROM 4-8 PM. Chrissy's cremated remains will be laid to rest along with her husband, James, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 9:45 AM.
