This is Barb Matthes. You ,his family, probably do not remember me. I knew my "Uncle Brian" long ago around 1976 when he just became a firefighter. All those guys gave me care every day as I struggled with my lifelong brain cancer, which I still have. I was 16 then. I will ALWAYS remember how kind, patient and dedicated he was to me and comforting he was to my parents. All the Indy Rescue team I've always considered a big reason I survived because I was soooo scared, hopeless and exhausted from my body. He helped me fight. I'm so very sad and sorry for your unexpected,
irreplaceable loss. I'm sad and don't have many more words to explain but I'll always remember Brian. My prayers are with you all.
