As far back as I can remember when we were kids, Audrey was always the “peacemaker”. As our friendship developed from ages 7-8 far into the future, Audrey was a person I remember as very kind, always smiling, and she could get anyone out of a dreary mood with a joke or just her laugh. She had the most infectious laugh! We spent a LOT of time together as children and after high school. We went on a great vacation to Cape Cod....I can still see her sitting on a huge rock which was supposed to be Plymouth Rock, the wind blowing in her hair, just looking out toward the ocean, deep in thought. It was an amazing time, as our dads let us travel by car by ourselves.....we had a blast! I will never forget that time, nor will I forget this amazing caring soul.
My daughter mentioned to me recently that when she was young she remembered Audrey at family functions ALWAYS asking how she was and to this day, my daughter says, she knew Audrey really cared how she was. As young as she was, she realized that this adult lady really made an impact on her life.
There is no greater legacy than what Audrey has done in her life and I’m sure she never realized how much or how many people she influenced by her kindness, her jovial laugh that was so very much like her fathers laugh, and just being Audrey.
We will all miss her very much. Her son Ricky will be able to tell his daughter, Talani, what a great lady her grandmother was and those memories will be her strength as she grows into her Talani name. Audrey will not be here but her life will lead this little one by her example.
My heart goes out to Audrey’s entire family. In time, your fond memories of her brief time on earth will be intertwined with the knowledge that her beautiful soul is with our Lord forever.
I am so saddened by Audrey’s passing, but I also know our Lord will take her hand, and with the words, “well done, good and faithful servant”, she will take her place in God’s Kingdom. I pray for the Swanson, Talani and Piasecki families for strength, hope, peace, and most of all Love....I will always miss this awesome soul, my friend....
