Andrea Marie LoConti-Moinuddin's Obituary
Andrea Marie LoConti-Moinuddin, born June 2, 1938, died peacefully on May 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Mahmood Moinuddin, children: Anisa Moinuddin (Eldon Kocher), Masood Moinuddin, Dr. Alia Moinuddin (Joe Greco), along with her children Mitchell and Ava Maha, and Dr. Douglas Moinuddin. Barbara Palichleb, whom she embraced as a daughter, and Katie and Matthew Moinuddin, her treasured grandchildren. Andrea was rarely without the company of her beloved grandpuppy, Leonardo (Katie). More than a pet, Leo was her loyal companion sharing her days, her snacks, and her quiet moments. He brought her comfort, laughter, and unwavering love, staying by her side until the very end.
Andrea was the beloved granddaughter of Fannie LoConti, cherished daughter of the late Andrew LoConti and Helen Trapp, and sister to the late Douglas LoConti, Madeline LoConti-Winney (Jeff "Fluffy," George [Jodi], and Vincent [Heather]), Andrew LoConti, Fannie Jean LoConti-Phillips (Albert) and her children Kali, Sara, Joey, and Alex; and her sister Nicole LoConti. Loving niece to Uncle Joey and Aunt Arlene LoConti, along with the entire LoConti family. She was a wonderful and loving Bhabi to Nazeer and Auntie to his family: Shahruq (Otilia, Hinnah, and Afshan), Bibi Khan (Ali, Hadi, Sehrish), and Allu (Ruhee, Farha, Sabah, Messum). Andrea was always surrounded by loyal and close friends, especially Hedi Eppich, Connie Cook, Christena Doman, Lori Labas and Family, and The Novotny family.
Andrea was born in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Willoughby and attended St. Mary College in Kansas. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Dr. Mahmood "Moin" Moinuddin, who affectionately called her "Andy." Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their 66-year union was a true partnership rich with shared dreams, strength through family, and a bond that remained unbreakable. They found happiness in the little things, feeding the birds each morning and frequently dancing together throughout the house to their favorite music.
A true matriarch of our family, she was a mother not only to her own children but to anyone who needed care, comfort, or a place to feel at home. A guiding force whose love held us all together. Her door was always open, her kitchen always warm, and her heart always ready to embrace. Whether you came for a meal, a moment of advice no matter the hour, or simply the comfort of her presence, Andrea welcomed you with the kind of love that made you feel like you belonged. She remembered every detail, every birthday, and somehow made everyone feel like they were her favorite. Her loyalty to those she loved was unwavering, and her forgiveness came as naturally as her kindness. She never judged, only offered love, encouragement, and a steady hand to hold. Andrea loved tending to her garden, especially her roses that were a reminder of her dear brother Douglas.
To us, Andrea was our sunshine. She adored the song her mother sang to her, "You Are My Sunshine", it was the soundtrack to the way she loved; unconditionally, brightly, and always. Her warmth lit up every room, and her presence could calm even the stormiest of days. She was our rock, our safe place, and our constant in a changing world. Andrea's nurturing spirit, her quiet strength, and her deep, enduring love created a legacy that lives on in each of us. She was the thread that wove the fabric of our family, the one we turned to for guidance, and the one who held us all with her heart. Her influence is immeasurable, and her memory will forever be our light.
The world feels smaller now that Andrea is gone; less full without her laughter, her gentle wisdom, and the quiet strength she brought into every space she entered. Her absence is felt deeply, like a silence where there was once a song. Even in our sorrow, we know she is still with us. She is in the softness of a kind word, the comfort of a warm blanket, and the choice to love deeply and without condition. Andrea lives on in who we are because of who she was to us; our sunshine, our rock, our guide. Her legacy lives in every life she touched. Her love shaped us, and that love remains woven into our hearts eternally.
The services for Andrea will be held privately. The family wishes to thank all family and friends for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences from all who knew and loved Andrea.
"We will Love you Always and Forever."
